Wir sind seit über 30 Jahren als Fotokünstlerinnen tätig – mit einem sehr ungewöhnlichen Ansatz: Unsere Arbeiten entstehen im direkten Zusammenspiel mit der Natur. Wir legen Großbild-Diafilme (9x12 cm) in pflanzliche Substanzen ein – Blätter, Erde, Wasser, Moose. Die Natur verändert die Emulsion, greift in die Oberfläche ein, hinterlässt Spuren. Sie "fotografiert" sich gewissermaßen selbst.

Unser Motto lautet: Nature makes photography.

 Was dabei entsteht, sind keine klassischen Bilder, sondern fragile, poetische Zeugnisse einer Natur, die sich mitteilt – wenn man sie nur lässt.

Unsere Absicht ist es, mit diesen Bildern Bewusstsein zu schaffen – für die Zerbrechlichkeit unseres Ökosystems, die Schönheit und Verletzlichkeit der Natur, dem bewussten Umgang mit unserer Umwelt anzuregen. Natürlich können wir das Artensterben nicht aufhalten – aber wir möchten mit unserer Kunst Impulse setzen.

We have been working as photographic artists for over 30 years – with a very unusual approach: our work is created in direct interaction with nature. We embed large-format slide films (9x12 cm) into plant-based substances – leaves, soil, water, moss. Nature alters the emulsion, interacts with the surface, and leaves traces. It is as if nature is "photographing" itself. Our motto is: "Nature makes photography." 

What results are not traditional images, but fragile, poetic testimonies of a nature that communicates itself – if you only let it. Our intention is to raise awareness of the fragility of our ecosystem, the beauty and vulnerability of nature, and to encourage a conscious approach to our environment. Of course, we cannot stop species extinction, but with our art, we aim to inspire and provoke thought.
